Samantha Coglan, Owner

Loving what you see here? Yeah, me too! These are the four stunning vacation rental properties belonging to designer, Samantha Coglan and her husband, Eric (who happen to be very good friends of mine, btw). Located in the heart of picturesque Leiper's Fork and just a short jaunt from village shopping and dining, each property is more like coming home than a rental. Actually, that's what Sam had in mind when she decorated each space with stylish details without sacrificing comfort. Folks often ask me which is my favorite but since Sam designed each to have their own unique personalities, I really can't decide.

A big plus for a worry free get-a-way is that Sam & Eric are a small family business and  they personally handle all the bookings and needs of their guests. When you stay ... let me know which is your favorite.

Finds in the Fork | Today in Franklin

Finds in the Fork

4165 Old Hillsboro Rd
Franklin, TN 37064
Wednesday - Saturday  10 am - 5 pm, Sunday  10 am - 5 pm

When music has been your life, and still is, really - you kinda wrap that around everything you do. When Karen and Scott opened Finds in the Fork in the village of Leiper's Fork they knew visitors would appreciate their love for music. It's a soulful shop, housed in a former residential cottage, so it has a "come hang out in an old record store kind of vibe". And, with good reason .... that's exactly what you'll find inside - a large collection of vintage LPs, (an entire room) displayed in vintage crates and walls covered in photographs of your favorite rock stars.

There's a pickin spot where musicians can just walk in and hang with the crowd while strumming off tunes on their instrument of choice. If you're so inclined to get in on the music jam, you can pick up an instrument right on the spot. You'll find folk art banjos and guitars - but the all time favorite again and again are the ukuleles. They are especially a big hit with the younger crowd. There's more to tell ... but that's a secret. You'll have to go to find out!

Franklin, TN 37064

Who loves barbecue? ME!! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't send someone to Puckett's for the best bbq in the world! I'm not sugar coating this folks, go see for yourself. I think the secret may be the years of perfecting the recipe and the cherry wood smoke. Choose from pork, beef, or chicken. I love all the bbq platters but, you must try the Piggy Mac (cherrywood smoked pulled pork in an iron skillet, topped with smoked Gouda Mac'ncheese! To die for, I mean it!!

If bbq isn't your thing Puckett's offers a daily lunch plate of a meat and several vegetables (go for the fried chicken), burgers, salads, and more. Go for the live music too! Some of the big names in the business have played there.

Tin Cottage | Today in Franklin | City Farmhouse Franklin

Monday - Saturday 10 am - 5 pm

The Tin Cottage, even the name sounds inviting, right?  Marianne is the sweetest shopkeeper in town and her creative design talents will give you all sorts of ideas for using the beautiful pieces in her shop. All those twinkling lights strung from the ceiling - it's just magical in there! She just returned from a buying trip so I'm heading over to check out the new goods. Maybe I'll see you there.

She's a celebrity too! You may have seen her recently on HGTV's House Hunter Renovation.

Vintage Jolie | City Farmhouse Business

A sale on MaCKENZiE-CHiLDS - Really!? Isn't that kinda rare? I'm sure this makes you collectors happy! Kim Briggs, and her daughter Sierra Jacobson, recently moved their shop from Main St. to a new location just off the square on 3rd Ave. I love the old historic building that was a watchmakers shop, back in the day ... and, her shop of course!

When I popped in Kim was unpacking some fabulous new things that she just found at market - a beautiful line of jewelry and clothing, and gorgeous linens. I really need a wardrobe redo - I just need a stylist. Just because I can style a home doesn't mean I can style myself! True story!

Vacation Rental Manager

Part of the charm of visiting Franklin is staying at one of the well appointed vacation rentals in the area. Sarah manages several properties in the Franklin area, particularly in the Leiper's Fork area. This fabulous kitchen is in the Big Blue House property (which is amazing, btw). I enjoyed a fabulous meal recently on the beautiful large porch overlooking the stunning property and the barn. It's perfect for large groups. Sarah also manages the Story Book Cottage that we decorated + Holly Williams cottage and more.
