Silver and silver plate is making a huge comeback from fancy to plain serving trays showing up on formal dinner tables to simple farmhouse tablescapes. Even silverware is back in vogue, and candlesticks are being scooped up across all collecting markets from high-end antique shows to country fleas. But identifying it's value can be frustrating when you decide to begin your search, or maybe you inherited grandmothers "old stuff" .... or is it?

At this workshop you'll learn all the tricks of the trade when identifying silver and silverplate from expert appraiser, Kristen Smolensky. You can even bring a family heirloom or that old yard sale piece in for appraisal.

For fun we'll sip Mint Juleps (in celebration of Kentucky Derby week) from 19th century sterling Julep cups & nibble on sophisticated bites and Kentucky Derby Pie.

Not only will you take home a wealth of knowledge from this workshop, but we'll send you on your way with an antique Mason jar filled with one of the ingredients for making Mint Juleps - Infused Mint Simple Syrup. We'll tie it up with a sweet little ribbon holding the Mint Julep and Kentucky Derby Pie recipe.
